At about 1130, I will be wanting LUNCH. Irene, our sweet colleague will help us to get salads, soups, kimchi, rice, noodles, whatever we want from the food centres around our office. I usually have a salad for lunch. HUH, really? Yes, I do. HAHA. I need the fibre if not my me time in the toilet will take longer than I would like it to be. I usually have 2 eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, capsicum, apples, melon and/or some grapes in my salad. I would have chicken breast with French balsamic dressing - Mm MMM! Really love that sourish, herby taste of that dressing. Absolute yum. If I am in no mood for greens, I almost ALWAYS have fish slice mee sua soup. The one they have at Amoy Food Centre is the best one I have ever eaten so I will always order this delicious bowl of salty goodness. The fish tender and the mee sua, already thicken and soften with the goodness of the soup. :)
There are many Korean restaurants on Amoy Street and Telok Ayer Street as well. My favourite Korean restaurant for lunch is Wong Daebak. It is on 98 Amoy Street (if I am not mistaken). The ladies are so friendly and their food so delicious. The side orders are awesome and the portions rather generous. My fave dish from this store, bean paste (miso) soup with rice. :) So yummy, kinda beat all the other meat dishes. They have good pork belly too. Very nice. Mouth watering NOW. HAHA.
Usually after lunch, at about 3 or 4 pm, I will get hungry again. This time I will attack whatever food we have in the pantry. Fruits, cereals, nuts, biscuits, chips, whatever. Even if I buy extra fruits to munch I will seek some kinda stress relieve from chips and chocolate. MUAHAHA. Sometimes I will head over to pasha to get their parma ham + brie sandwich. I love cheese. Especially brie. I admit sometimes I order the parma ham + brie sandwich just for the brie. :p Many times I will have a hot cuppa coffee or mocha to get over the mid-day hunger.
Dinner is usually what we call, #10 from the Viet store at Amoy Street Food Centre. This Viet lady sells super good Viet food which even my Viet student swear by - so it must be damn good and authentic la RIGHT? Sometimes I will have the rice roll with shrimps and most times, #10. I think #10 is called the roasted meats with fried spring rolls and thick beehoon with sweet and sour Vietnam sauce. YUMMY MAX. I can eat this HUGE bowl of noodles for like 2 hours. Slowly savour the goodness within.
There, after recounting all the food I love and want to eat at work, and this being a Sunday night, I kinda have the feeling that I wanna go to office soon, so I can eat all the yummy stuff. I don't see any Monday blues coming my way. :) I had a good rest (sleep) this weekend and I foresee myself working very hard and well for the COMING week.
GAMBETTE NEH JILL-CHAN! You can do it!! Thank you God for all the love, care and gift!
